Minimally Invasive Dentistry for Pre-Eruptive Enamel Lesions—A Case Series

Pre-eruptive enamel lesions occur during tooth formation and include fluorosis, traumatic hypomineralization, molar incisor hypomineralization. Minimally invasive treatment approaches, such as microabrasion, should be considered for these cases. This article presents a case series of three patients with pre-eruptive defects in esthetically compromised regions which were treated the microabrasion technique: two fluorosis cases, moderate advanced, one hypomineralization etiology. In Cases 1 3, there was significant improvement esthetics total resolution defects. However, slight yellowish coloration may detected at close observation. Case 2 (advanced fluorosis), although no full white spots, clear esthetics. Microabrasion is safe effective, minimally lesions. It does not require local anesthesia, it less destructive than restorative interventions, allows good esthetic outcomes postoperative sensitivity. Its efficacy directly related to lesions’ severity depth. Although are some limitations, further can achieved dental bleaching. More treatments might if results still unsatisfactory.
